Global Fabric Wholesale is run by Runtang Textile Co., Ltd., a fabric business based in Zhangcha, Foshan, in China's Guangdong province, an area known as one of the country's biggest textile hubs. The company says it was founded in 2010 and started out specialising in knitted fabrics, and it now sells online to customers in more than 130 countries and areas.
The shop lists over 10,000 fabrics sold by the yard, with no minimum order. You can browse by fabric type (French terry, fleece, jersey, rib, denim, jacquard, tweed and more), by fibre, by colour or pattern, and by what you want to make, from hoodies and dresses to curtains and sofa covers. Each listing gives the weight in gsm, the fibre mix and the width, which helps when you're matching a pattern. Prices drop per yard as you order more, and you can add a swatch card to check colours first.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Orders ship worldwide with FedEx and other carriers, and the shipping cost is worked out at checkout. International orders are sent Delivered Duty Paid, which means import duties and VAT are included in the order total, so there should be nothing extra to pay on delivery in the UK. Most orders are cut, packed and dispatched within one to three business days.
