About Global Trade Rates
Global Trade Rates is a freight rate comparison website for UK importers and exporters. It is owned by Harper Capital Consultants Ltd, a company registered in England in July 2026 with its office in Chelmsford, Essex. The platform is powered by Exfreight, a digital freight business that aggregates rates from carriers and forwarders, and it is aimed at businesses rather than people sending personal parcels.
The site publishes daily container rates on popular routes into Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway from ports such as Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen, Nhava Sheva, New York, Singapore and Istanbul. Each route page shows the cheapest and fastest 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high-cube options with transit times and a 14-day price history. Sea rates come from carriers including CMA CGM, COSCO, MSC, ONE, OOCL and Maersk, and there's a separate air freight quote form.
Quotes are free. When you pick an option, a freight specialist from the partner network contacts you to confirm details, run identity checks and set up a prepaid or credit account. The terms say displayed rates are indicative and that Harper Capital Consultants acts as an intermediary rather than a carrier or forwarder. Foreign exchange services mentioned on the site are provided separately by Chartwell International.
