About Housekeep
Housekeep is a London-based home services platform run by Housekeep Limited, registered in England and Wales in October 2013. It was founded by Avin Rabheru, who was made an MBE in 2022 for services to entrepreneurship and digital innovation. The idea was to take the hassle out of finding a cleaner: no cash, no chasing, and an online account for everything.
You enter your postcode, get matched with a local cleaner and a price, and book weekly, fortnightly or one-off cleans. Cleaners have at least six months' professional experience and are background-checked, including right-to-work and criminal record checks. As well as regular cleaning, Housekeep arranges deep cleans, end of tenancy cleans, after-builders cleans, carpet, upholstery and oven cleaning, and tradespeople including plumbers, electricians, handymen and gardeners. It covers London and other areas including Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh and the West Midlands.
The site advertises home cleans from £18.50 an hour. Regular cleans are charged to your card on the evening of the clean, never in advance, and there's no contract. Any clean can be skipped or moved free until midday the day before. You supply the vacuum, mop and bucket, and you can ask your cleaner to bring cloths and sprays.
