KitchenKnives.co.uk traces its history to 1899, when Italian-born Peter Maturi opened a shop on George Street in Leeds and sharpened knives and scissors for local hotels, restaurants and tailors from a bicycle and barrow. Peter Maturi & Sons became a well-known Leeds cutlery retailer over the following century, and in 2015 the brand was bought by Gastronomy Plus Ltd, which now runs the shop from Claughton, near Lancaster.

The site covers almost every kind of kitchen knife: chef's, santoku, bread, paring, boning and carving knives, knife blocks and sets, and a large Japanese section with gyuto, nakiri and sashimi knives. Brands include Global, Wüsthof, MAC, Zwilling, Victorinox, Sabatier, Kai Shun, Robert Welch and British makers such as Savernake. There are also whetstones and sharpeners, chopping boards, cutlery, Scanpan and Demeyere cookware, and a Made in Britain section. A postal sharpening service sends you a free, insured envelope for your blunt knives.

Standard UK mainland delivery is free on orders over £60 (£5.99 below that), and next day delivery is available on many items.
