Millennium Hotels and Resorts is an international hotel company owned by City Developments Limited (CDL), the Singapore property group controlled by the Hong Leong Group. Hong Leong entered the hotel business in 1970 with King's Hotel in Singapore, and CDL's hotel arm expanded abroad in the 1990s, buying the Gloucester Hotel and The Bailey's Hotel in London in 1993 and the Millennium Hilton in New York in 1994.
In 1995 CDL bought the Copthorne Hotels chain, and the two businesses were combined as Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1996. CDL bought out the remaining shareholders and took the company private in 2019. The group is headquartered in Singapore and London.
Its brands include The Biltmore, Leng's Collection, Grand Millennium, Millennium, Copthorne, Kingsgate, M Social, Studio M and M Hotel, and it has hotels in the UK, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, New Zealand and the United States. Rooms can be booked direct through its website.
