About Morrisons
Morrisons started in 1899 as an egg and butter stall run by William Morrison in Bradford's Rawson Market, and the company is still headquartered in Bradford. Its stores were mainly in the north of England until it took over Safeway in 2004, which gave it a much bigger presence in the south, Wales and Scotland. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange until the private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice bought it in 2021.
Morrisons is known for its Market Street counters, where butchers, bakers and fishmongers prepare food in store. Its own ranges include The Best for premium food, Savers for low-cost basics and Nutmeg clothing, and many stores have cafés, pharmacies and petrol stations. Smaller Morrisons Daily convenience shops sit alongside the main supermarkets.
Online, you can book home delivery or Click & Collect from a local store, or use Morrisons Now for same-day delivery within 60 minutes in selected areas. The free More Card gives members More Card Prices, personalised offers and 5 More Points per product, and every 5,000 points becomes a £5 Fiver to spend. Morrisons also runs Unbeatables, a pledge not to be beaten on price by Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Aldi and Lidl on hundreds of products.
