About NRCME Plus
NRCME Plus Examiner Training System is an online course for American healthcare professionals who want to become certified medical examiners on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's National Registry, which lets them carry out DOT physicals on truck and bus drivers. It's made by Oakstone CME, a long-established US continuing medical education publisher that is part of Ebix, based in Johns Creek, Georgia.
The course is self-guided and works on mobile. It has 28 instructional modules covering FMCSA regulations and conditions such as diabetes, vision, hearing, cardiovascular and neurological disorders and medications, each followed by a quiz, plus a pre-test, a post-test, a practice exam and a certificate of completion. Bonuses include Q&A decks with more than 500 practice questions and an online resource library of FMCSA forms and guidelines. It carries up to 12 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
The course is priced at $399 for unlimited online access, and orders are taken through Oakstone's own store. If you don't pass the FMCSA exam first time, Oakstone issues a credit for the purchase price towards a future Oakstone purchase, provided you completed most of the course. Group pricing is available for five or more learners. It's only relevant to clinicians working in the US.
