About Oriental Monkey
Oriental Monkey is a fine jewellery brand founded in 2020 by Zeynep Orberk Büyükuğur, who spent many years as an editor-in-chief and fashion director at Turkish fashion and lifestyle magazines before working on international titles. She had designed jewellery for family and friends for years before turning it into a business, and she remains the brand's creative director. The label has a showroom in Bebek, Istanbul, and also lists a London contact address.
The pieces are handcrafted and made in limited editions, mostly in 18ct or 14ct gold with diamonds, sapphires, topaz and enamel details. Designs lean heavily on nature, animals, architecture and travel, grouped into collections such as Animal, Cities, Jungle, Retro, Sea and Stones. Expect owls with sapphire eyes, snake bracelets set with diamonds, leaf cuffs and personalised engraved wedding bands. This is high-end jewellery: most pieces cost thousands of dollars.
Prices on the site are shown in US dollars. Delivery is free within Turkey; for other countries the shipping fee is worked out at checkout and the buyer pays any customs charges, so UK shoppers should expect import VAT and duty on top. Exchanges are possible within 10 business days for unused pieces, but personalised items can't be exchanged and product pages say there are no returns. Stockists include Harvey Nichols and Luxury Promise in London, plus Beymen in Istanbul.
