About Young Soles
Young Soles is a children's footwear label started in 2014 by Louise Shill, a footwear designer who could not find shoes she liked for her own daughter. The brand takes classic British styles such as brogues, Mary Janes, T-bars, Chelsea boots and loafers and scales them down for children, and Louise still designs the range herself.
The shoes are made in family-run factories in Europe, mostly in soft leather, with a few vegan synthetic styles. There are four sole types, including a zero-drop barefoot sole introduced in 2022 that is now used on shoes, boots, sandals and trainers in the Barefoot Collection. Prices are shown in pounds, with most barefoot styles between £58 and £64 and the brogue boots from about £85.
The business is based in Colchester, Essex, and sells online worldwide as well as through other retailers. Its free Fan Club adds credit to a Piggy Bank account, and a Recycle and Reward scheme gives credit for sending back worn-out pairs.
