Notta is an AI note-taker for anyone who spends too much of the day in meetings, lectures or interviews. It records Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex calls, either by sending a bot into the call or by recording on your own device, and turns the audio into searchable text. It also transcribes files you upload and YouTube links, then writes summaries and action items so you don't have to scroll through the whole transcript.

It suits freelancers and consultants who want to listen rather than scribble, students recording lectures, journalists and podcasters transcribing interviews, and small teams who want a shared record of what was agreed. Notta supports 58 languages for transcription and can translate live, including a bilingual mode that shows two languages side by side.

What's worth a look

Notta is software, so here are its plans, add-ons and apps. Prices are in US dollars, as shown on Notta's own site.

Most people should start with the free plan, which gives you 120 transcription minutes a month with no credit card. The catch is that each recording is capped at three minutes, so it's really a taster. Notta Pro lifts that to 1,800 minutes a month with recordings of up to five hours, plus transcript export, translation and custom vocabulary, for $97.99 a year. Teams can look at Business at $199.99 per seat a year, which adds unlimited transcription, video recording of web meetings and CRM integrations.

If you'd rather not have a bot join your calls, the Chrome extension and desktop apps record what's playing on your own machine. And for face-to-face meetings there's Notta Memo, a 28g card-sized recorder with four microphones and a bone conduction mic for phone calls. Notta lists it at $149 and sells it through Amazon.
