ALDO is a shoe brand from Montreal, founded in 1972 by Aldo Bensadoun, the grandson of a cobbler. It began as a small concession in a department store and now has shops in more than 100 countries. In the UK you can buy online or visit its stores on Oxford Street, in Bluewater, Westfield Stratford, Westfield Shepherd's Bush and Bromley.

ALDO sits between the high street and designer labels. It suits anyone after on-trend heels, boots, loafers and trainers at mid-range prices, plus matching bags and accessories. Many styles use its Pillow Walk cushioning, a dual-density foam footbed. The UK website is run by LM Brands UK Ltd in London.

The range is wide for a shoe brand. Women's shoes run from kitten heels, loafers and ballerinas to knee-high, cowboy and Chelsea boots, and there are handbags, jewellery, sunglasses and hair accessories to match. The men's side covers oxfords, derbies, loafers, boots and trainers, plus laptop bags, wallets, belts and watches. The site only ships within the UK and only sells ALDO's own products.

What's worth a look

The Stessy2.0 is ALDO's best-known heel, a pointed stiletto with a slightly lower 3.75-inch heel than the original Stessy. For autumn, the Vaylen leather ankle boots pair a block heel with a small platform. Men have plenty too: the Teodoro leather derby is in the sale, down from £149 to £119.20. Sizes sell through quickly in the sale, so check your size on each page.

How to save more

• Return for store credit if you can. Posting an online return back costs £3.95 for a refund to your card, but store credit and exchanges are free, and so is taking it back to an ALDO shop.
• Pick the cheapest delivery. Under £100, sending to an Evri pick-up point costs £3.45 against £4.95 to your home. Next-day delivery is £6.95.
• Don't expect codes on sale items. ALDO says most discount codes only work on full-price items, so use a student or key worker code on new season styles and shop the sale separately.
