EasyTrimLondon is a specialist shop for anyone who looks after horses' feet. It began in 2018 with a simple idea, to make trimming easier, and now stocks just about everything a farrier carries in the van: rasps, nippers, loop knives, clenchers, hammers, pullers, foot stands, horseshoes and nails, plus hoof boots and hoof care.

It suits two groups. Professional farriers will find working tools from names such as GE Forge & Tool, Kahn, Heller, Save Edge, Double S and Jim Blurton, and shoes and nails from Mustad, MNC and Richard Ash. Horse owners who do their own trimming, or just want to keep feet in good order between visits, can buy rasps, knives, pads, hoof dressings and boots. There's also a small range of pet grooming scissors.

Two things to know before you shop. Prices on the site are shown excluding VAT. And under the Farriers (Registration) Act 1975, horseshoes and nails can only be sold to registered farriers, so you'll be asked for your registration number on those. Everything else is open to anyone, and you can order by phone on 01923 593399 if you'd like advice first.

What's worth a look

If you trim your own horse, the Hoof Loop Knife with the rainbow layered handle is EasyTrimLondon's own design. The loop shape gets into the curves of the hoof, and it comes in small, medium and large for £19.99 ex VAT. For dry, cracked feet, Kevin Bacon's Hoof Dressing Original Balm comes in 1 litre and 2.5 litre tubs, from £24.99 ex VAT.

At the professional end, the GE Easy Hoof Nippers are made in California from chrome vanadium steel, with a rounded shape that's easier on the hands. They come in 12, 14 and 15 inch sizes at £289.99 ex VAT.

How to save more

• Group your orders. Rasps, nails, pads and dressings all wear out, so buying them together can take you over £250 and cut out the delivery charge.
• Replace the blade, not the rasp. Replacement radius rasp blades are £11.99 (fine) and £13.99 (coarse) ex VAT, against £29.99 and up for a whole rasp.
• Order before 3pm on a weekday. Orders received by then usually go out the same day, which saves paying for a faster service.
