Farah began making workwear in Texas in 1920, but most British shoppers know it for what came later. Relaunched here in the 1970s, its slim hopsack trousers were picked up by mods, rude boys, football casuals and the 90s indie crowd, and the little F-tab on the pocket became a badge for each of them. Today it's a straightforward menswear label for men who like classic shirts, polos and trousers with a bit of history behind them. The brand is owned by Perry Ellis International and has a shop on Berwick Street in Soho as well as the UK website.

The range is tidy rather than huge: Brewer Oxford shirts in slim and box fits, chinos and trousers in several cuts, polos, T-shirts, sweatshirts, knitwear, overshirts, jackets and coats. Farah says its basics and many fashion lines now use certified organic cotton, and online orders go out without unnecessary wrapping.

What's worth a look

Six pieces from the UK site, with prices as shown on 12 October 2026. Three are in the current sale.

The Brewer Oxford is the shirt Farah is built around. The Brewer Box Fit Oxford Shirt in Sky Blue is down to £28 from £70 in the sale, which is a good way to try the fit before paying full price for the newer slim-fit version at £65. For trousers, the Roachman 4 Way Stretch Trousers at £55 are the practical pick for work and travel, while the Greenport Loose Fit Herringbone Trousers at £70 follow the current taste for a wider leg.

For colder months, the Chaffee Melton Overcoat in navy is £200. It isn't cheap, but it's the kind of coat that goes over a suit or a jumper equally well.
