Frizzlife is a water filter brand with its own UK web store, priced in pounds. It sells the main types of home drinking-water filter in one place: reverse osmosis systems that sit under the sink, simpler under-sink filters, countertop units that need no drilling, and the replacement cartridges each one needs. The company has sister stores for the US, Canada and Europe.

It suits homeowners who are tired of buying bottled water or refilling a jug, and renters who want a filter they can take with them. Reverse osmosis systems are the big purchase, from around £280, and are fitted under the sink. If you'd rather not touch the plumbing, the countertop models connect to your existing tap or simply sit on the worktop.

The choice mostly comes down to space and budget. The reverse osmosis systems are tankless designs, so there is no separate storage tank to find room for under the sink. Under-sink filters such as the MK99 are smaller and much cheaper. Countertop units like the stainless steel DS99-S attach to your existing tap with a hose, which suits kitchens where you can't drill. Most items are dispatched within 24 hours.

How to save more

• Factor in replacement filters before you choose a system. Each product page lists the matching cartridges and their prices, and they're a regular cost.
• Measure the space under your sink before buying a reverse osmosis unit: sale items can't be refunded, and you pay return postage on unwanted items.
• Stock on the UK store varies, so if a model shows as sold out, check back rather than ordering from the US site, which prices in dollars.
