Gorilla Wear is a Dutch gym clothing brand that has been part of bodybuilding culture since 1982. It began by making kit for serious strength athletes and still leans that way: bold logos, oversized tops, cut-off tanks and a big range of lifting accessories. The company, Gorilla Wear B.V., is based in Hengelo in the Netherlands, and its motto is "For The Motivated".

It suits anyone who lifts regularly and wants clothing and gear from one place, from heavy trainers who need grips, wraps and belts to people who just like a gym hoodie that doubles as everyday wear. There are full men's and women's ranges, plus shoes, gym bags, shakers and fight gear.

A practical point for UK shoppers: the site opens in euros, but the country selector has a United Kingdom (GBP £) option that shows prices in pounds. All the prices below are the UK prices shown that way. Orders are sent from the Netherlands, and the store says standard delivery to the UK takes 2 to 5 working days.

What's worth a look

Here are six pieces from across the clothing and training gear ranges, with UK prices as shown today.

The Saint Louis Varsity Jacket at £130 is one of the newer statement pieces, while the Dallas Wrist Wraps Gloves at £31 show where the brand is strongest: practical kit for heavy sessions. If you do a lot of deadlifts or rows, the Lifting Grips at £26 combine a rubber grip with a padded wrist wrap, so you don't need separate straps and wraps.

For women, the Florence Seamless Contour Leggings at £44 are part of the latest drop, and the Gwear Urban Motion Shoes at £87 are a lightweight trainer meant for the gym and for wearing out. They're listed in EU sizes 38 to 46, so check the size guide before ordering.

Current offers

The main deal on the site right now is the Fall Mystery Box, in men's and women's versions. Each costs £87 against a stated regular price of £302. The men's box has more than six items in sizes S to 4XL, and the women's box comes in XS to L. Gorilla Wear chooses the contents, so you can't pick styles or colours, and if you send it back the whole box has to be returned together.

The Last Chance section lists more than 200 styles that won't be restocked. These are shown at regular prices rather than marked down, so it's a place to catch a favourite before it goes, not a clearance sale. You can also get 10% off by signing up to the newsletter in the site footer.

How to save more

  • Set the country to United Kingdom (GBP £) before you add anything to your bag, so you can see exactly what you'll pay in pounds.
  • Free shipping applies to orders over €99 within Europe. The UK is grouped with other European countries for delivery times, but the page doesn't name it for the free shipping offer, so check the delivery charge at checkout.
  • Get sizes right first time. UK returns are accepted within 30 days for unworn items with tags, but they cost €10.50 through the returns portal unless the item is faulty or wrong.
