The Curious Drinker is what Craft Gin Club is called from 2026. The club was dreamt up in 2015 by business school friends Jon Hulme and John Burke and took investment from Sarah Willingham on Dragons' Den in 2016. The team and the distillers it works with are the same; the range has simply grown beyond gin to rum, tequila, vodka, liqueurs and alcohol-free spirits. Existing Craft Gin Club members kept their accounts and subscriptions.

It suits gin and rum fans who like trying small-batch bottles they won't find in the supermarket, and anyone looking for a spirits gift. The company, Craft Clubs Limited, delivers across the UK, including the Channel Islands and Scottish Highlands, with prices in pounds.

The club box is still the main event. Depending on the box, you get a craft spirit, either a full 70cl bottle or minis to taste, with mixers or tonics, garnishes, easy cocktail recipes, snacks and a Spirit Guide magazine, mostly from independent and small-batch distillers. Outside the club, the shop sells bottles, cocktail sets, canned cocktails (including alcohol-free versions at £16.50 a 6-pack), syrups, gin and rum advent calendars, gift memberships and gift cards.

The Gin Advent Pairing Bundle is the add-on for the gin advent calendar: 24 mixers, one for each gin, plus garnishes and a pairing card, and there are rum and gin-and-rum versions at the same price. For a one-off bottle, Wicked Wolf Bad Moon Gin from Exmoor is juniper-led with citrus and spice, while Black Lodge Potions Spiced Rum mixes tropical fruit with vanilla and a hint of coffee.

We don't have a code for The Curious Drinker yet, but the club's introductory prices take over 50% off your first box with free delivery: the Gin Discovery Box is £26 instead of £55, the Rum Discovery Box £22 instead of £55, and the Gin and Rum Taster Boxes £14 instead of £28. Boxes arrive monthly and you can skip, swap or cancel online. In the sale, the £70 Festive Spirits Mystery Box was down from £156 and cocktail syrup 7-packs were £10 instead of £22.75 when we looked. Standard delivery is free over £79, otherwise £4.99.
