GS Workwear is a workwear and safety supplier based in Paignton, Devon, selling to tradespeople, businesses and anyone who needs proper work kit. It says it has access to more than 60,000 products, from budget basics to big names such as Portwest, Regatta Professional, Apache, Buckler, Rock Fall and Helly Hansen, and it's a registered member of Eurosafe and the British Safety Industry Federation.

It's mainly aimed at people buying for work: site and warehouse teams, caterers, cleaners, rail workers, landscapers and small firms kitting out staff. You don't need an account to buy, and prices are shown including VAT by default, with a switch at the top of the page to see them ex VAT if you're buying through a business. Larger buyers can apply for a trade account with wholesale pricing.

What's worth a look

Here are six products from the current range, with today's prices from GS Workwear's own pages.

The Buckbootz B1150SM Buckflex Safety Dealer Boots are a Goodyear-welted pull-on boot with a steel toecap and steel midsole, rated SB P HRO SRC. If you only need occasional protection, the Portwest Steel Split Leather Mid Boot at £11.99 is about as cheap as safety boots get, with a 200 joule steel toecap and pierce-resistant midsole.

For outdoor work, the Regatta Professional Dover parka is £20.99 with waterproof fabric, taped seams and recycled insulation, while the Apache ATS padded jacket sits at £41.99. Espro basics are where the savings really show for teams: a plain cotton tee is £3.09 and an EN ISO 20471 hi-vis waistcoat is £1.69. Current offers

• Free standard UK delivery on orders over £75 (£100 for trade customers); below that it's £3.99.
• Wholesale pricing for businesses with a trade account.
• No setup fee for up to three lines of personalised text on garments.

How to save more

• Bundle the team order. With basics this cheap, it's easy to fall short of £75, so add spares such as gloves or hi-vis vests rather than paying £3.99 delivery.
• Use text instead of a logo for small runs. Text needs no setup, while each new logo has a one-off £18 digitising or vectorising charge before the per-logo price (from £3.49 for a small print or £3.80 for small embroidery). Logos saved to your account don't need setting up again, except on a large back print.
• Get sizes right first time. Orders can only be changed within an hour, custom-made items can't be refunded and returns cost £3.95 with a Royal Mail label.
