Maiden Cricket was started by sisters Honor and Cat, who grew up playing in boys' teams and never found kit that fitted. Tops were too big or see-through, and even the "unisex" gear wasn't. In 2024, still in their teens, they started designing their own, and the brand has since been on BBC's Dragons' Den.

The idea is simple: cricket kit built for women and girls rather than resized from the men's. Clothing comes in more sizes, with adjustable hems, stretch fabrics and built-in protection. The equipment is slimmer and lighter, and most lines come in separate women's and girls' versions. It suits junior players whose parents are fed up with oversized whites, club and county cricketers, and coaches kitting out a girls' team.

Clubs, schools and universities can also order custom teamwear in their own colours, with a dedicated contact and production in two to four or six to eight weeks depending on how much is customised.

Beyond the shop, Maiden runs an ambassador programme for players, coaches and mentors aged 8 to 60, and partners with clubs and county boards that back the women's game. In August 2026 it launched in the United States as the founding apparel and equipment partner of the Seattle Orcas Women's T20 Exhibition.

What's worth a look

Six pieces of kit and equipment from the Maiden shop, with prices as shown on 12 October 2026.

The Women's Cricket Batting Pads are a good place to start. They're shaped for women's legs, with a curved knee and less bulk, so they're easier to run in, and they come with a mesh storage bag. There's a girls' version for ages 8 to 16 at £80. The kit bag has narrower curved shoulder straps and an extra chest strap, plus wheels, a detachable pouch and space for pads, shoes and a helmet.

For training, the Century Zipper is a fleece-lined quarter-zip at £36, and the Yorker Gilet at £38 layers over match kit or everyday clothes.

Current offers

  • 10% off your first order: sign up to the Maiden newsletter and the welcome discount comes by email.
  • Free UK delivery over £75: a pair of pads or gloves plus a cap or headband gets you there.
  • Free returns within 30 days: on standard (non-personalised) clothing and equipment, through the returns portal.

How to save more

  • Check the size guides first. Returns are free, but you only get one free exchange per item, and Maiden's sizes are cut differently from men's kit.
  • Ask your club about teamwear. If the whole squad needs kit, a teamwear order in club colours may suit better than buying piece by piece.
  • Look at the girls' range for smaller adults. Girls' pads, gloves and tops are priced a little lower than the women's versions.
