NN Hotels (Núñez i Navarro Hotels) is a Barcelona hotel group with 13 properties and more than 1,300 rooms, all in the city. It became a hotel group in 2001 with the opening of Hotel Barcelona Universal and has grown to include design-led hotels near the Rambla, Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça d'Espanya and the Born, plus a building of serviced apartments in the Eixample.

It suits city-break travellers who want to walk to the sights, and many of its hotels have rooftop terraces and pools, which are welcome on a hot Barcelona afternoon. Prices are in euros, and the website comes in English and six other languages.

What's worth a look

Here are five properties that show the range, plus the group's spa package.

Hotel 1898 is the group's showpiece on the Rambla. It's housed in the former headquarters of the Philippine Tobacco Company and has colonial-style rooms from 20 m² Classic doubles upwards, suites with a private garden and pool, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a rooftop bar. For something more relaxed, Seventy Barcelona sits between Passeig de Gràcia and Gràcia and calls itself a Mediterranean house, with an urban beach club, a patio and a spa.

Hotel Jazz is a minute from Plaça Catalunya and has a pool and solarium on its eighth-floor terrace. Its Family Deluxe rooms (35 m²) sleep three. Midtown Apartments has 30 fully equipped apartments in a 19th-century Eixample building, so it's a good fit for families or groups who want a kitchen.

Current offers

We currently list three NN Hotels deals, all for booking direct: an Early Bird discount of 5% on Barcelona stays, a Last Minute Offer of 10% off up to 72 hours before arrival, and 19% off long stays of 28 nights or more at Midtown Apartments. The website also has a Free Cancellation rate with no prepayment, which you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the day of arrival. And at Seventy Barcelona and Hotel 1898 there's the Relax & SPA package, which includes a night with breakfast, a bottle of cava, sauna access and a 50-minute massage for two.

How to save more

• Pick the discount that suits your timing. Early Bird rewards planning ahead, while the last-minute rate only applies within 72 hours of arrival and can't be combined with other discounts or promo codes.
• Book on nnhotels.com rather than elsewhere. The group offers a best rate guarantee and exclusive benefits for direct bookings.
• For a month or more in the city, contact Midtown Apartments or book online to get 19% off 28+ nights. The building has private parking and a pool with solarium.
