Perfume Plus Direct is an online fragrance discounter based in Manchester. The company behind it, Perfume Plus Direct Ltd, was set up in 2006, and the shop says it stocks well over 1,000 designer fragrances, plus gift sets, body sprays, bath and body products, tanning and a little make-up.

It suits anyone who knows what they like and wants it for less, as well as gift buyers working to a budget. The site has sections for fragrances under £10, £20, £30 and £40, and every product page shows the price next to the RRP, so you can see the gap at a glance. Brands include Hugo Boss, Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Viktor & Rolf, Burberry, Issey Miyake, Vera Wang and Davidoff.

Delivery is UK only, by Evri tracked service. Orders of £20 or more go free, smaller orders cost £2.49, and orders are dispatched within two business days. There's a next-day option if you order by 1pm on a weekday, although it can't reach PO Box or BFPO addresses.

Unopened items can be sent back within 30 days using a free prepaid Evri label from customer service. For hygiene reasons, cosmetics that have been opened can't be returned unless they're faulty, so keep the cellophane on until you're sure. The site also has a handy guide to the difference between eau de parfum, eau de toilette and eau de cologne if you're choosing between strengths.

The Vera Wang Lovestruck 100ml is a fruity floral with guava, lotus and tuberose, and it's £19.99 against an RRP of £84. For men, Hugo Boss Boss Bottled Night 100ml is £34.99, under half its £75 RRP, and Davidoff Cool Water aftershave splash is just £13.39.
