PlayStation Store: PS Plus tiers and big PS5 games at UK prices

PlayStation Store is Sony's own digital shop for PS5 and PS4. It sells downloadable games, add-ons and PlayStation Plus memberships, and anything you buy goes straight into your account library, so you can download it on your console or start it remotely from the PlayStation App. Because it's the official store, new Sony releases arrive here on launch day, and it's the only place to buy PS Plus directly from Sony.

It suits anyone with a PS5 or PS4 who would rather not swap discs, and it's handy for families who share one console. Digital games can't be resold or lent out like discs, so it pays to know the store's rhythms and buy at the right moment. All prices below are UK prices shown on PlayStation's own pages on 19 October 2026.

What's worth a look

Here are six picks, from a year of PlayStation Plus to some of Sony's biggest recent games.

PlayStation Plus comes in three tiers. Essential is £59.99 a year and covers online multiplayer, monthly games to claim and cloud saves. Extra, at £99.99, adds the Game Catalogue of hundreds of downloadable games, and Premium, at £119.99, adds cloud streaming, game trials and classic games. You can also pay monthly (£7.99, £11.99 or £14.99) or for three months, but the 12-month plans work out much cheaper if you know you'll stick with it.

On the games side, Astro Bot is a cheerful platformer that works well for younger players and adults alike, and at £59.99 it's cheaper than most new Sony releases. If you missed it first time around, The Last of Us Part II Remastered is £44.99.

We don't have any PlayStation Store codes listed right now. PS Plus members can add October's Monthly Games, F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, to their library until 2 November 2026. PS Plus members also get 5% off consoles and accessories bought direct from PlayStation, plus free express delivery (pre-orders excluded). The store's Deals page changes regularly, so check it for the current themed sale before you buy.

How to save more

• Work out which PS Plus tier you'll actually use. If you mainly play online with friends, Essential is enough. Extra only pays off if you'll play several Game Catalogue titles you'd otherwise buy.
• Wait before downloading. Games can be refunded within 14 days of purchase, but only if you haven't started downloading or streaming them, and automatic downloads can start without you, so think about turning them off in your console settings.
• Add games you're interested in to your wishlist and check back during big seasonal sales, when PS Plus members often get extra discounts.
