Steam & Oak: hot tubs, saunas and cold plunges for UK gardens

Steam & Oak is a UK online shop for people planning a bit of spa kit at home: hot tubs, swim spas, indoor and outdoor saunas, cold plunge tubs and the heat pumps that keep running costs down. It sells its own Steam & Oak range alongside brands such as Harvia, HUUM and Holl's, and it is aimed at buyers who want the practical details spelled out before spending thousands of pounds, from power supply to how the delivery lorry will reach your garden.

The site is full of plain guides on access, site preparation and electrics, and the founder says he reads and answers enquiries himself. If you are still deciding between a sauna and a hot tub, or between a 13A and a 32A tub, it is worth reading those pages before you add anything to your basket.

What's worth a look

• Entry Spa 4 plug-and-play hot tub, currently £3,995. A four-seat tub with 19 jets that runs from a standard 13A outdoor socket, so there is no hardwiring to arrange. Steam & Oak says a cover, cover lifter, steps and UK delivery are included in the price.
• Saaren 250 barrel sauna, currently from £3,750 for the cabin only, with heater options (electric, wood-fired or gas) adding to the price. At 2.5m long it is the compact choice in the Saaren range and has a small covered terrace at the front.
• Anvil 1 full spectrum infrared sauna, currently £2,995. A two-person indoor cabin measuring 120 x 105 x 190cm, with LED lighting and Bluetooth audio, for those who would rather keep the sauna inside.
• Halla 120 barrel cold plunge tub, currently £2,250. A traditional round banded barrel with stainless steel bands, a liner and a timber ladder, for cold dips in the garden.
• Harvia sauna accessory kit (bucket and ladle), currently £59. A simple starter set if you already have a sauna or are buying a cabin without accessories.

Current offers

Steam & Oak is upfront that it does not run discount codes, saying its listed prices stay the same all year. What it does offer:

• Free standard delivery to UK mainland addresses. Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands and some other offshore postcodes are charged or quoted separately.
• Klarna at checkout, including interest-free Pay in 3, Pay in 30 days and longer finance, subject to status.
• Steam & Oak branded hot tubs come with a cover, cover lifter and steps included in the price.

How to save more

• Check your power supply first. A 13A plug-and-play tub avoids the cost of an electrician fitting a 32A supply.
• Look closely at sauna variants. Some cabins start without a heater, so compare the full price of the version you actually need.
• Plan the delivery route. Standard delivery is kerbside, and positioning or installation are paid extras, so measure gates and paths before ordering to avoid surprises.
