The Foam People: made-to-measure caravan, van and truck mattresses

The Foam People is a family-run mattress maker based in Ossett, West Yorkshire, and it makes everything in its own factory before rolling, boxing and posting it out. It sells standard home mattresses and toppers, but its real speciality is the awkward stuff: caravan, campervan and motorhome beds cut to shape, static caravan mattresses, truck cab mattresses and replacement covers.

If you've ever tried to find a mattress for a dome-ended island bed in a caravan, or a topper that fits a van conversion, you'll see why that matters. You pick the shape closest to your bed, choose a size band and foam type, and the sales team gets back to you within a working day to confirm the measurements. It also suits anyone after a simple foam mattress for a spare room, guest bed or child's room without paying high-street prices.

The range runs across three tiers. Core is the entry level, Comfort adds deeper and more layered foams, and Superior covers the plusher memory and cooling foam options. Each product page shows a comfort rating, and there are themed foam mattresses for kids too. Everything arrives vacuum-packed, so give a new mattress 24 to 48 hours in a well-aired room to reach its full depth, and expect the courier to send a two-hour delivery slot on the day.
