WalkingPad is the brand behind the folding walking pad, the slim treadmill that slides under a sofa or sits beneath a standing desk. It belongs to KingSmith, a company started by robotics postgraduates who wanted a way to keep moving without a trip to the gym, and its UK store sells the whole range in pounds with VAT included. It suits people who work from home and want to walk during calls, anyone short on space for a full-size treadmill, and home gym buyers looking for kit that folds away when the room is needed for something else.

Beyond the original walking pads there are hybrid models with fold-up handrails and running speeds, larger vertical-fold treadmills, a folding incline treadmill, water rowers, weight benches and an under-desk exercise bike. Most machines connect to the KS Fit app, and every machine comes with a two-year warranty on the motor, controller, frame and display.

If you mainly want to walk while you work, the C2 is the simplest place to start: it folds in half, tops out at 3.7 mph and costs £369, down from £499. The A1 Pro has the same speed range but a higher 136 kg weight limit. For walking and jogging, the R3 Hybrid+ adds height-adjustable side handrails and goes up to 7.5 mph. At the top of the range, the G5i is a folding treadmill with a motorised incline of up to 18% and a 1300 x 500 mm running area. WalkingPad's own FAQ points out that the classic walking pads have no incline, so the G5i is the one to look at if hills matter to you.

How to save more

• Watch the price for two weeks after you buy. Under WalkingPad's 14-day price protection, if the same product gets cheaper on the UK site, you can email support and get the difference back. Prices on Amazon or other shops don't count.
• Measure your space and check the folded sizes before ordering. Change-of-mind returns cost £40–£70 for collection, taken off your refund.
• If you live in a flat, ask support to add upstairs delivery (£49) before your order is dispatched. Standard delivery stops at the kerb, front door or building entrance.
