About 2ndNumber
2ndNumber is an online service that gives you an extra phone number without a second SIM card. You can choose a UK mobile or landline number, a US or Canadian number, or a Belgian, Dutch or Spanish number, and use it through the 2ndNumber app for Android and iPhone, a web dashboard or a VoIP deskphone. Its terms say the service is operated by Intervoice Technology SL and governed by the law of England and Wales.
It is aimed at sole traders, small businesses and anyone who wants to keep a personal number private. You can divert calls to your normal mobile, receive texts in the app or by email, use the number for a second WhatsApp Business account or for verification codes, build a voice menu by typing what you want callers to hear, share an SMS inbox with colleagues and add a ChatGPT-based WhatsApp chatbot to a website.
On the GBP pricing page a UK number costs £3.15 a month or £37.19 a year, US and Canadian numbers £2.05 a month and Belgian, Dutch and Spanish numbers £3.99 a month. Each plan includes 100 credits a month, where one credit is a minute of calling or a text to the UK, US or Canada, and receiving calls and texts is free. There is no contract, but checkout is charged in US dollars and paid fees are non-refundable except where the law requires. UK landline numbers cannot receive texts.
