About Access a GP
Access a GP is a UK membership service that lets you book telephone or video appointments with UK-registered GPs at any hour of the day, every day of the year. You join online, receive login details by email, then ring the service number; an operator books the appointment and the doctor calls you back. One membership covers everyone living in the same household, and there is no limit on the number or length of calls.
Membership also includes a 24-hour confidential helpline run by BHSF, with counsellors accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, plus legal and money advice lines. If a GP decides a private prescription is appropriate, it is sent to Pharmacy2U, which takes payment for the medicine separately and posts it to any UK address by Royal Mail.
There are three ways to pay: £11.99 a month, £99.50 a year, or a one-off £39.95 for 14 days of cover, aimed at holidays and short trips. Monthly plans have a three-month minimum and annual plans run for twelve months with no refunds part-way through. The site trades as Berkeley Wallace Ltd of Glasgow under licence from GP on Demand Ltd, with clinical services provided via HealthHero and BHSF. It is not an emergency service or health insurance.
