About AlphaBiolabs
AlphaBiolabs is a testing laboratory based in Warrington, Cheshire, that has been running since 2004. It sells home test kits to the public and also works for solicitors, social workers, local authorities and employers, using a UK-wide network of sample collectors and walk-in centres.
For the public, the best-known product is the home paternity test at £89 with next-day results, or £159 for same-day results. Other kits include ancestry tests from £119, a genetic lactose intolerance test at £49, a baby gender blood test from £89, and home drug test kits from £11. You collect the sample yourself, usually a cheek swab, post it back in the envelope provided and get password-protected results by email. Kits arrive in plain packaging. Results from home kits cannot be used in court; legal tests need an observed collection with identity checks.
The lab says it holds UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation, and it has previously received a Queen's Award for Enterprise. Payment by PayPal Pay in 3 is offered on many tests. Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have any concerns about your health.
