BlindsExpress.com is an American online shop for custom window coverings, run by Windowflair Inc. from Rochester, New York. It grew out of a family-run decorating business that it says goes back more than 45 years, and it describes itself as an authorised internet dealer for the brands it sells, including Levolor, Bali, Bali Essentials, Norm and its own Our Brand and Quick Ship ranges.
The range covers faux wood, wood, metal, vinyl and vertical blinds, cellular, roller, Roman, pleated, solar and woven wood shades, and shutters, all made to your measurements. Prices are in US dollars and quoted from a base size, so the final price depends on your window. You can order up to ten free swatches before you buy, and there are guides on how to measure.
The important point for UK readers is that BlindsExpress.com doesn't ship outside the US: its FAQ says its vendors aren't set up for international sales. Custom orders are charged when you place them and can't be cancelled, returned or exchanged, though damaged or faulty items reported within 30 days are sent back to the maker for a free remake. Most custom products take two to three weeks to arrive.
