Brigit's Bakery was founded in London in 2014 by Cedric Bloch, who wanted to mix his French heritage with the British afternoon tea. After buying a classic Routemaster bus, the company launched its Afternoon Tea Bus Tour, which serves afternoon tea on board while the bus takes in central London sights over about 90 minutes. It is run by Brigit's Afternoon Tea Ltd.
There is now a range of tours. The Classic tour runs all year, and there are themed tours with Peppa Pig, PAW Patrol, Paddington and MONOPOLY, plus seasonal Halloween, Christmas Lights, Grinchmas and Cat in the Hat tours. Every menu comes in traditional, halal, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions. Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol tours take children from age 2, and most others from age 5, with reduced child prices. One Routemaster has been adapted with a ramp for wheelchair users.
Away from the buses, Brigit's Bakery in Chandos Place, Covent Garden serves afternoon tea and light meals daily, including prosecco and champagne versions. It also does afternoon tea delivery and picnics, catering for hotels and restaurants, and private hire of buses and party rooms. Gift vouchers are sold through its online shop and are valid for six months. Bookings are non-refundable, though dates can be changed for a fee.
