About Digitise Your Memories
Digitise Your Memories is a small UK business that converts old family VHS tapes into formats you can still watch. It's run by P Phillips Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales in 2024, from Newcastle upon Tyne, and it says every tape is handled in-house rather than sent to a third-party warehouse. It concentrates on standard VHS only, so other tape formats aren't covered.
There are two services. VHS to Digital gives you an MP4 file for each tape through a secure download link, which works on laptops, phones, tablets and most smart TVs. VHS to DVD returns a physical disc for each tape instead, at £1 more per tape. You pick the number of tapes, pay online and then get a prepaid postage label by email, so there's no separate UK shipping charge. Your original tapes come back once the work's done, and the shop says most orders are finished within a few working days of arriving.
Prices fall as you add tapes: one tape to MP4 is £11.99, and 11 to 20 tapes work out at £8.99 each. For more than 20 tapes there's a bulk quote. People near Newcastle can arrange to drop tapes off in person at a discounted rate. Because each conversion is made to order, there are no refunds once work has started, but you can cancel before posting your tapes.
