About Carbotti
Carbotti is a family leather business from Martina Franca, near Taranto in Puglia. Its founder, Domenico Carbotti, started out as a boy in a saddler's workshop just after the Second World War. He set up his own business in 1956, and the family company Carbotti Srl followed in 1987. The workshop has been on Via Pietro del Tocco since 1985, and the family still runs a shop in the town.
The range is women's handbags, made by hand in palmellato calfskin and other leathers. Named models such as Elena, Greta, Masami, Erika and the small Licia cross-body come in several colours and sizes. Many bags are made to order in small batches, and a bespoke service and 3D bag configurator let you choose the leather, colours, lining, hardware and an engraving. A Ready to Ship section lists bags that are already made, and the Eau de Pochette capsule adds a scented bag with a travel-size fragrance.
Carbotti sells worldwide from Italy, with prices in euros and free express delivery by FedEx or DHL. Import duties and local taxes aren't included in the price, so UK customers should expect to pay these when the parcel arrives. The site is in Italian, English and Japanese.
