Coworkshop Solutions Ltd is a Hong Kong software company founded in 2001 and formally established in 2002. It has its main office in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong, and a second office in Shenzhen, and it describes itself as a provider of data loss prevention (DLP) software in the Asia Pacific region. Its customers are businesses and organisations rather than home users.
Its main product, Curtain e-locker, takes what it calls a zone-based approach. Instead of scanning outgoing emails and uploads for sensitive words, administrators mark the systems and shared folders that hold confidential data, and files from those sources can only be used inside a protected zone. Users can still open and work on them, but saving, copying, printing and screen capture outside the zone can be blocked and logged. It is pitched at firms protecting things like design drawings, financial reports, ERP and document management systems, and CCTV footage. Two smaller tools sit alongside it: Curtain MonGuard puts a watermark with details such as the computer name on screen to discourage photos of sensitive information, and Curtain LogTrace records file activity, such as copying, deleting, printing and USB use, for audits.
