About Da Luna
Da Luna is a London womenswear label founded in 2023 by Hong and named after her grandmother, Luna. Its clothes mix Chinese textile traditions with modern shapes, with lots of embroidery, Chinese knot buttons, patchwork leather and silk.
A signature fabric is mud-dyed silk, known in China as xiang yun sha. The brand explains on its site that the silk is dyed with yam root, dried in the sun and coated with river mud in Guangdong, which leaves one side glossy black and the other a warm brown-orange. You will see it on jackets, shirts, trousers, caps and trench coats.
The range covers kimonos, vests, jackets, coats, blazers, dresses, skirts, shirts and trousers, plus bags, belts and caps, and there is a wedding edit and one-of-a-kind pieces. Prices sit at the designer end. As well as selling online, Da Luna has two London boutiques, on Marylebone Lane and Brompton Road in Knightsbridge.
