About gus + beau
gus + beau makes foam playmats for babies and toddlers that are designed to look good in a living room rather than a soft-play centre. The mats come in muted rainbow, star, spot, triangle and confetti patterns, plus a big range of plain colours from sage and dusty blue to forest green and sunflower. They're made from interlocking 60cm EVA foam tiles that are BPA, lead and phthalate-free and EU safety-certified, so you can start with six tiles and add more as your child grows.
The brand was founded by Liz Rawlinson, who spent more than ten years in online retail at companies including Liberty, L'Oréal and notonthehighstreet.com. After her second son, Gus, was born in 2017 she couldn't find a playmat that suited her home, so she designed her own while on maternity leave. The name comes from her sons.
Prices are in pounds, with patterned six-tile sets from £75 and plain sets from £60. A build-your-own tool lets you mix plain colours, and extra single tiles are sold separately. UK delivery is by DPD in one to two working days and is free on orders over £60, and the site also ships to Ireland and, on request, further afield.
