About JA Resorts & Hotels
JA Resorts & Hotels was founded in Dubai in 1981, first trading as Dutco Hotels. That year it opened two of the emirate's earliest resorts, the Jebel Ali Beach Hotel and the Hatta Fort Hotel in the Hajar Mountains. It is owned by the DUTCO Group, a UAE business founded in 1947, and is led by Chairman Ahmed Baker.
The group now runs nine properties in three countries. In Dubai there are JA Beach Hotel, JA Palm Tree Court, JA Lake View Hotel and JA Ocean View Hotel, plus JA The Manor Hotel, with JA Hatta Fort Hotel in the mountains. In the Maldives there is JA Manafaru, a private-island resort with overwater villas in Haa Alifu Atoll. In the UK it owns JA Mar Hall, a nineteenth-century country estate beside the River Clyde, 10 minutes from Glasgow Airport, with an 18-hole golf course, and JA The Bruntsfield, a Victorian townhouse hotel overlooking Bruntsfield Links in Edinburgh.
