About Kijou
Kijou is a monthly STEM subscription box for children. Each box has a theme and contains the materials, instructions and a magazine for one hands-on project, such as building a wooden water blaster, a hydraulic arm or a spinning art machine. There are three lines by age: Wonder for ages 3 to 5, Odyssey for ages 6 to 8 and Explore for ages 9 to 12. You can switch between lines if your child outgrows one.
The brand began as Tinkerer in Hong Kong, under Seal Technology (Hong Kong) Ltd. Kijou is the name it uses for its French and German shops. UK visitors to kijoubox.com are sent to a UK shop at kijoubox.com/uk, which is branded Tinkerer, priced in pounds and run by Tinkererbox UK Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. The boxes are designed by educators, designers, scientists and artists, and the range has won an Academics' Choice Award.
You can subscribe monthly or pay for 6 or 12 months up front, and you can also buy past boxes one at a time from the shop. UK orders go by Royal Mail, and standard Tracked 48 delivery is free. New subscriptions dispatch within three working days. There are also gift subscriptions and e-gift cards for grandparents and godparents.
