About Macian
Macian is a London-registered footwear label making women's shoes and boots in England. Its founder, Silvia Olcese, grew up in Liguria in northern Italy, and the brand mixes that Italian eye with traditional English shoemaking from Northamptonshire.
The range is small and focused: Chelsea boots, ankle boots, brogue Derbys, Oxfords, double monks and penny loafers, mostly in black, dark chocolate, hazelnut and burgundy calf leather. Shoes are Goodyear welted with Vibram or Dainite rubber soles, which means they can be resoled and repaired rather than thrown away when the sole wears out.
The company talks openly about making fewer, longer-lasting shoes. It produces its packaging and shoe bags in the UK, and runs an aftercare and repair service with the repair platform CICON for customers in the UK. Prices sit at the luxury end, with most pairs between £495 and £550, and UK delivery and returns are free.
