About Shower Blocks
Shower Blocks is a small British maker of plastic-free personal care. Its main product is a solid shower gel bar, a soap and shower gel hybrid sold in 100g blocks, alongside solid shampoo bars, hand soap bars and mixed packs. Products come in recyclable cardboard boxes rather than plastic bottles.
The company says its founder, Neil, started it in 2020 during lockdown after getting frustrated with the number of plastic bottles he was using. Everything is made from scratch in small batches at its own unit in Horley, Surrey. The range is plant based and suitable for vegans, avoids SLS and parabens, and the company says its products are between 96 and 100% natural depending on the item.
Fragrances include lemon and rosemary, sweet orange and bergamot, cedarwood and eucalyptus, black cherry, mango and passionfruit, and an unscented option. To cut waste, Shower Blocks also sells 1kg boxes of off-cuts, the ends of blocks that can't be sold whole, at a lower price per gram. The site sells in pounds and also ships to much of Europe.
