About Sky View Observatory
Sky View Observatory is a visitor attraction in Seattle, Washington, in the United States. It occupies the 73rd floor of Columbia Center, the 76-storey tower at 700 4th Avenue that was completed in 1985, and at 902 feet it bills itself as the tallest public viewing area in the Pacific Northwest. A lift takes visitors up 73 floors in around 80 seconds.
The deck gives 360-degree views taking in Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, the Cascade and Olympic mountains, Elliott Bay, Bellevue, the Space Needle and the city itself. There is a café and full-service bar on the same floor, open during observatory hours, serving snacks, coffee, local beer, wine and seasonal cocktails, and there is no time limit once you are up.
Tickets are sold online in US dollars, from a Standard general admission ticket to packages that add a café voucher and reserved window seating, and they can also be bought at the ground-floor box office. Groups of 10 or more get special pricing, the observatory is part of the Seattle C3 CityPASS, and it hosts private events for up to 300 guests, including proposal packages. UK visitors can book ahead from home; the venue is cashless and takes all major cards.
