About Spreadshirt
Spreadshirt was founded in Leipzig, Germany, in 2002 as a student start-up by Lukasz Gadowski and Matthias Spieß. It is now part of Spread Group, which runs several print-on-demand businesses, with headquarters in Leipzig and Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and production sites in Poland, the Czech Republic and the United States.
The UK site works in two ways. With Create Your Own you pick a product, from T-shirts, hoodies and jackets to caps, socks, bags, mugs, stickers and home textiles, then upload your own picture or text or choose from its design library, and have it printed or embroidered. The Shop is a marketplace of ready-made designs from independent creators, plus officially licensed ranges such as Peanuts and Harry Potter. Each item is made to order.
It's popular for personalised gifts, hen and stag do T-shirts, matching family outfits and small batches of clothing for clubs and events, with volume discounts on bigger orders. There is a separate Spreadshirt Pro service for businesses wanting branded workwear and teamwear, and creators can open their own shop to sell designs. Delivery goes worldwide with standard, premium and express options, and returns are accepted within 30 days.
