SureSafe sells personal alarms to help older people keep living independently in their own homes. It's the trading name of Bora Health Limited, based in Liverpool, which also operates in the US and Australia. SureSafe says it launched in 2013, and its alarms connect to UK-based monitoring centres.
The range includes the SureSafeGO, a mobile pendant or watch alarm with an SOS button, GPS location and automatic fall detection that works at home or out and about. There are also simpler in-home alarms such as the 24/7 Connect neck pendant and the Fall Alert pendant, a GPS tracker watch with a lockable strap for people living with dementia, alarms for lone workers, and accessories including key safes and spare pendants.
Most alarms come in two versions. With 24/7 monitoring, a press of the button connects the wearer to a trained operator, who can talk through the device and contact family or the emergency services. With family monitoring, the alarm calls up to three nominated relatives or friends instead, for a lower monthly fee. Monitored devices are rented as part of the service and must be returned when you cancel, while family-monitored SureSafeGO devices are bought outright. Delivery is free by Royal Mail, and there's a 30-day home trial on alarms with 24/7 monitoring.
