About The English Bed Company
The English Bed Company is the bed and sofa bed brand of Forest Sofa Ltd, a furniture manufacturer registered in Salford since 2004. The business says its furniture-making history goes back decades in Lancashire, and it now runs two factories, in Manchester and Blackburn, where its frames are built and upholstered in house.
The range covers upholstered beds from single up to grande emperor size (7ft by 7ft), with plain, buttoned, winged, sleigh, storage and ottoman designs. There are matching headboards, pocket sprung, memory foam and orthopaedic mattresses, sofa beds including corner and Chesterfield styles, plus chairs, footstools and bedding. Most designs can be made in a choice of more than 150 fabrics and leathers, and pieces are handmade to order, typically taking several weeks.
You can order online or by phone, and the Manchester showroom on Ford Lane in Salford is open seven days a week. Free fabric samples and a brochure can be ordered before you buy. Beds come with a five-year frame warranty, and there is a stock clearance section for ex-display and one-off pieces at reduced prices.
