About Warrantywise
Warrantywise sells extended warranty plans for used cars, vans, electric vehicles and classic cars. A plan is meant to help with the cost of mechanical and electrical repairs once a manufacturer's warranty has run out, and the company says it has sold more than a million plans since it started in 2000. TV presenter and mechanic Edd China acts as its independent adjudicator when there is a dispute over a repair.
Plans are chosen by the vehicle's age and mileage, from the 04/40 plan (up to four years old and under 40,000 miles) to the 15/150 plan (up to 15 years and under 150,000 miles), with separate EV and EV+ plans. Breakdown assistance, car hire and onward travel are included as standard, and optional additions such as air conditioning, MOT failure and multimedia can be added during the quote. Prices depend on the vehicle and aren't published; you get a quote online or by phone.
It is worth knowing that Warrantywise describes its plans as discretionary: each repair request is assessed individually and payment is not guaranteed, and the company says its plans are not insurance or a regulated financial product.
