In short: we donate 50% of the commission we earn from shoppers who choose you, there's no cost to you, and either of us can end it at any time by email. We'll ask for payment details separately.
Commercial participator agreement
Version of 19 October 2026. This is an agreement under section 59 of the Charities Act 1992 between:
- Digital Gnome Ltd (company number 14004495), registered office 6 Pollard Close, Caerleon, Newport, NP18 3SS, which runs Voucher Magpie at vouchermagpie.co.uk ("we" or "us"), email [email protected]; and
- The charity named in section 1, at the address and email given there ("the charity").
1. Start and length. This agreement starts on the date the charity signs it and lasts until either of us ends it under clause 10.
2. What we do. Voucher Magpie is a UK website listing discount codes and deals from online shops. Shoppers can choose a charity or club to support. When a shopper who has chosen the charity follows one of our links to a shop and buys something, the shop may pay us a commission, usually through an affiliate network. We raise money for the charity only in this way: through our website, our browser extension, and the emails and social media posts we send to people who have chosen to receive them. We never ask the public for donations on the charity's behalf, take money from shoppers for the charity, or contact people by phone, by post, in the street or at their door.
3. What the charity gets. We donate 50% of the Net Commission to the charity. "Net Commission" means the commission a shop or affiliate network has confirmed and paid to us for purchases made by shoppers who had chosen the charity when they clicked through, after any reversal for returns or cancelled orders, and excluding VAT. We make no other deductions from the charity's share.
4. Payment. We pay each cause its confirmed commission every quarter (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct), once the shop has confirmed the sale, usually 30 to 90 days after the order. We pay by bank transfer to an account the charity gives us in writing, and send a statement with each payment showing the commission received and the charity's share.
5. What we keep. We keep the other 50% of the Net Commission to run Voucher Magpie. That is our only payment under this agreement: the charity pays us nothing.
6. What we tell the public. Wherever we say the charity benefits, we say clearly that we donate 50% of the commission we receive, after the shop has confirmed the sale, and that we are a commercial business, not part of the charity.
7. The charity's name and logo. The charity lets us use its name, charity number and logo for the purposes it ticks in section 2, and only in ways that fit this agreement. We show any page or news story about the charity to it first, and publish it only once it approves. We won't suggest the charity recommends any shop, product or offer. The charity can change its permissions at any time by email.
8. Fundraising standards. We follow the Code of Fundraising Practice in so far as it applies to how we raise money. We don't target vulnerable people or encourage anyone to spend money they otherwise wouldn't; shoppers pay the shop's normal price, and choosing the charity costs them nothing. We send emails only to people who have asked for them, and every email has an unsubscribe link. We pass any complaint about our fundraising for the charity to it within 5 working days, and tell it how we resolved it.
9. Checking our work. The charity can ask at any time for the figures behind its payments and copies of anything we publish about it, and we'll send them within 14 days. We don't share shoppers' personal details with the charity, or the charity's with anyone else.
10. Ending this agreement. Either of us can end this agreement at any time by email, effective from the day it is sent. We'll then stop showing the charity's name and logo within 14 days, and pay the charity its share of any commission for purchases made before the end, as the shops confirm it.
11. Notices. Anything this agreement says is done by email is sent to the email addresses above, or to a new one either of us gives the other by email.
12. Changes. This agreement can only be changed in writing (email is fine) agreed by both of us. If we update our standard wording, we'll email the charity the new version, and it applies only once the charity agrees.
13. Law. This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. Each of us signs it electronically, and a typed name counts as a signature.
