About RSPCA
The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is an animal welfare charity working in England and Wales. It was established in 1824.
Its officers investigate reports of cruelty and neglect and rescue animals in need, and it brings prosecutions against people who harm animals. Its animal centres, wildlife centres and local branches care for and rehome animals, and its vets treat them. It also campaigns for stronger animal welfare laws and runs education work in schools and communities.
