Subway Rewards turns eligible spending into points that can later be exchanged for Subway Cash. The useful question is not simply how many points an order earns, but what those points are actually worth and whether your preferred restaurant participates.
How many Subway points do you earn?
According to the official UK programme, Rising Star members earn 10 points per £1 on qualifying spend, Hot Shot members earn 11 and The Boss members earn 12. It takes 150 points to convert into £1 of Subway Cash. At the basic 10-point rate, £15 of eligible spending yields 150 points, equivalent to £1 of redeemable Subway Cash; the reward is not an immediate discount at the till on the original purchase.
Membership tiers
Subway identifies three levels: Rising Star, Hot Shot and The Boss, with higher earning rates and additional benefits at higher eligible annual spend. Birthday treats and promotions may depend on tier and current programme terms. The app displays your actual level and available offers.
How to earn and spend the points
- Join Subway Rewards in the official app.
- Scan your personal QR code at a participating restaurant or place an eligible app order to collect.
- Check the points balance and choose how much to convert into Subway Cash before redemption.
- Remember that third-party delivery, gift cards, taxes and fees may not earn points.
- Make at least one qualifying Subway order every six months to avoid the points balance expiring under the stated inactivity rule.
Does the app offer other discounts?
The Subway app can show time-limited meal deals and personalised offers. Some advertised prices relate only to participating locations or limited campaigns, so check the live offer list for your branch. A meal deal can offer better immediate value than the future points earned on a full-price purchase.
Compare the real value
At the Rising Star rate, ten points per pound and 150 points per pound of Subway Cash imply about 6.7p of redeemable credit per £1 of eligible spend, assuming you use the points before expiry. That is a calculation, not a promise of cash back: Subway Cash has redemption restrictions and is not money withdrawable to a bank.
