Cordners is a family-run shoe shop from Northern Ireland that has been selling footwear for more than 30 years. It has two shops, in Newtownards and Ballymoney, and an online store that delivers across the UK and to Ireland. It suits families who'd rather buy everyone's shoes in one place: there are women's, men's and children's departments, with bags and shoe care too.

The brand list is long and mostly about comfort and quality. You'll find Rieker, Gabor, Remonte and Waldläufer for women, Skechers, Ecco, Barbour and Bugatti for men, and Birkenstock, Blundstone, Dubarry and Crocs in the unisex range. The children's collection is a real strength, with Start-Rite, Clarks, Geox, Primigi and Lelli Kelly, and many kids' styles come in more than one width fitting.

What's worth a look

The Blundstone 1918 Chelsea boot in brown and terracotta is £175. It has a water-resistant leather upper, elastic sides and a cushioned footbed, so it'll do for muddy walks and the office alike. Delivery is straightforward. Standard UK delivery is £4.95 by Royal Mail Tracked 48, and next working day delivery is £9.95 if you order before 2pm on a weekday. Cordners also ships to the Republic of Ireland, with prices in euros and free delivery over €100, and to Australia and the USA, where you may have to pay customs charges.
