Elizabeth Arden opened her first Red Door salon on New York's Fifth Avenue in 1910 and built one of the best-known names in beauty. Eight Hour Cream arrived in 1930 and is still the brand's signature product, and the gold Ceramide Capsules followed in 1990. The brand is now part of Revlon, and its official UK site sells the full range direct.

Skincare is the core of the shop, with Ceramide capsule serums, PREVAGE, Superstart and the Eight Hour collection, alongside makeup, bath and body, and fragrances such as Red Door, White Tea, Green Tea, Sunflowers and Blue Grass. It suits anyone who already has an Elizabeth Arden favourite and wants to buy it at the brand's own offer prices, or who's looking for a gift with a well-known name.

The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is the multi-tasker that started it all: a rich balm for dry hands, cuticles and skin that can also be used to shape brows or add shine to cheeks. The capsule serums come in packs of 30, 60 or 90, and the price goes up with the pack size, so the larger packs are worth a look if you already know you like a formula.

Fragrance fans will find Red Door, the 1989 scent inspired by the original salon, alongside lighter options such as Green Tea and Sunflowers. Orders go by Royal Mail Tracked and usually arrive in 2 to 3 business days, or next day for £7.00 if you order before 2pm on a weekday. The site delivers to UK addresses only, and not to the Channel Islands.
