Elizabeth Arden opened her first Red Door salon on Fifth Avenue in New York in 1910 and went on to build one of the best-known names in beauty. She introduced a full skincare and colour range in 1916 and 1917, created some of the first travel-size products, and in 1930 launched Eight Hour Cream, the multi-use balm that is still the brand's best-known product. The company received a Royal Warrant in 1962, launched the Red Door fragrance in 1989 and its gold Ceramide Capsules in 1990. Today it is part of Revlon.
The official UK website sells the full range direct. Skincare is the biggest part: Ceramide capsule serums (including the Advanced Gold, Retinol + HPR, Hyaluronic Acid + Peptides and Vitamin C versions), PREVAGE, Superstart and the Eight Hour collection. There's also makeup, bath and body, and fragrances including Red Door, White Tea, Green Tea, Sunflowers, 5th Avenue, Blue Grass and Mediterranean.
The site runs regular offers such as a sitewide code, a welcome discount for email subscribers and gifts with purchase, and you can pick two free samples with each order.
