Costack Spices is a Manchester seasoning brand that has been trading since 2014. Its founder, Fred, started it because bold spice blends were hard to find in the UK without a trip to a specialist shop. The range is now 19 blends and single spices. There are everyday shakers like All Purpose and Complete Seasoning, and West African and global flavours such as Smoky Tomato (Jollof) Rice Seasoning, Suya Spice, Cameroon Pepper and Adobo.

It suits home cooks who want more flavour without mixing their own blends, and anyone cooking jollof, suya or pepper soup who struggles to find the right seasoning locally. The site is upfront about ingredients. Some savoury blends contain MSG and other flavour enhancers, single spices like ground ginger and dried thyme have nothing added, and every product page gives the heat level and allergens.

If you only buy one thing, make it Complete Seasoning. At £3.99 for 175g, it's a mild garlic, onion, herb and paprika blend that Costack says replaces eight separate seasonings in stews, marinades and one-pot dinners. Spice fans should go for the Hot Smoky Chilli Powder (Cameroon Pepper), £15 for a 164g bottle. It's rated hotter than cayenne, so a little goes a long way. For regular cooks, Kitchen Staples Monthly (£25.98) sends four everyday blends each month: Jollof rice, Complete, Chicken and Turkey, and Vegetable seasoning.
